For over a century, there has been fiber flowing out of Old Town, Maine. A historic and notable landmark, the Old Town Fuel & Fiber facility grew out of a small pulp mill on the banks of the Penobscot River into a leader in value-added pulp manufacturing.
Today the pulp mill is implementing a unique design for producing energy and biofuels as byproducts of the core pulp manufacturing process.
Acquired by Patriarch Partners, LLC, a New York-based private equity firm, in November, 2008, Old Town Fuel & Fiber has already established partnerships with the University of Maine, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, City of Old Town, Eastern Maine Development Corporation, U.S. Department of Energy, and United Steelworkers Union Local 80, among others.
Our partners are involved in the full range of renewable energy development and technology, development of optimized manufacturing processes and the restoration of manufacturing, employment and economic opportunity in the state of Maine.
